Large Animal Medicine Service
The medicine service provides advanced diagnostic services and patient management in all aspects of large animal medical care.
- advanced equine neonatal care in the Equine Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that is staffed by perinatology experts in a state-of-the-art physical facility with access to sophisticted diagnostic equipment, including digital radiography, ultrasound, Computere Assisted Tomography (CAT) and MRI.
- research and care of horses afflicted with gastrointestinal disease
- diagnosis and care of neurological disease in large animals, including use of such techniques as cerebrospinal fluid collection, elec tromyography and brainstem auditory evoked responses
- diagnostic imaging, including scintigraphy and computer assisted tomography (CAT scan)
