Dr. Klibs Galvão Appointed Associate Chair for LACS

  • The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences would like to congratulate Dr. Klibs Galvão for being named associate chair in LACS. Dr. Galvão will now be assisting the Department Chair in developing and sustaining key programs in LACS to fulfill current and future educational, research and service goals of the Department and the College of Veterinary Medicine. 
  • Dr. Galvão joined the University of Florida, Food Animal Reproductive Services in October 2010. Dr. Galvão is currently a Professor of Food Animal Reproduction and Medicine in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the University of Florida. Dr. Galvão completed a Residency in Dairy Production Medicine and a Masters in Preventive Veterinary Medicine at UC-Davis, then completed a PhD in Reproductive Physiology with a minor in Immunology at Cornell University, then he worked at The Ohio State University as a Clinical Assistant Professor, before moving to the University of Florida. Dr. Galvão is board certified by the American college of Theriogenologists and the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. Dr. Galvão’s workload is divided into research, clinical service, and teaching related to dairy cow reproduction.
