The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences is pleased to announce the addition of new faculty member Dr. Heather Roe within the Large Animal Surgery Service.
Dr. Heather Roe, DVM, MS – Clinical Lecturer
Dr. Heather Roe, Clinical Lecturer in Large Animal Surgery, earned her BS in Biology from Florida State University, as well as a MS in Veterinary Science and DVM from University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY, and a residency in large animal surgery at UF Large Animal Hospital. Her research focuses on soft tissue surgery, including urogenital surgery in ruminants and horses, colic and abdominal surgeries in ruminants and horses, and upper airway surgery in horses (more specifically to treat recurrent laryngeal neuropathy). In her spare time, Dr. Roe enjoys scuba diving, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her (soon-to-be) one-year-old child. Dr. Roe can be reached by e-mail at heather.roe@ufl.edu.
